Succulents and cactus come from dry places where rain is short and soil is gritty, so their roots are built to drink fast and dry fast. How Do You Use It?

1. Choose a pot with drainage holes. A terracotta pot dries faster than plastic.
2. Fill the pot with mix, place the plant so the base of the stem sits just below the rim, and firm gently.
3. Do not put a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot, because it does not improve drainage. The drainage holes and the mix do.
4. If you repotted a plant with damaged roots, wait several days before the first watering. Otherwise water until water runs from the holes.
5. After that, let the mix dry completely between waterings, then soak it again. Check with a finger rather than a fixed schedule.
6. Give your plant bright light, and feed lightly in the growing season.
