Root Max Soilless Potting Mix – Cocopeat, Perlite & Vermicompost Blend for Pots, Seedlings and Indoor Plants (گملے کی مٹی)

Root Max is a ready-to-use, semi-organic growing mix made from washed cocopeat, perlite and peat moss, enriched with vermicompost, neem cake, mustard cake, rock phosphate, wood ash and biochar. It is a light, airy alternative to گملے کی مٹی (potting soil) that helps water drain, keeps the root zone airy and gives plants a natural nutrient base. It is not meant for cactus and succulents, which need a faster-draining mix.

  • Material: washed cocopeat, perlite, peat moss and natural nutrient sources.
  • Main job: an airy, well-draining root zone for potted plants
  • Best for: vegetables, herbs, flowering and foliage plants, houseplants, seedlings and nursery bags

What Is Root Max? (Root Max کیا ہے؟)

Root Max is a soilless potting mix: a light blend of washed cocopeat, perlite and peat moss, enriched with vermicompost, neem cake, mustard cake, rock phosphate, wood ash, biochar and a pH-balancing amendment. It contains no garden mitti, so it stays loose and airy in pots, grow bags and nursery bags, while the natural ingredients give plants a gentle nutrient base. Like other growing media, it is designed for containers rather than for planting directly in the ground.

Root Max is a semi-organic blend built on natural ingredients; it is not sold as certified organic. Organic Baghbani sources its products from certified dealers.

Why Choose a Soilless Potting Mix for Pots and Containers?

Finding a soilless mix in Pakistan that copes with our climate matters, because ordinary garden mitti often causes trouble in pots. Heavy clay-rich soil (بھاری مٹی) compacts, bakes hard in summer heat and stays soggy during monsoon humidity, so roots can struggle for air and overwatering becomes easy. A soilless blend is lighter and more open, which gives water room to drain and gives جڑیں (roots) space to breathe and spread.

What Does Root Max Do for Your Plants?

  • Lighter pots: easier to lift and move, and kinder on balconies and rooftops (چھت کا باغ)
  • Better پانی کا نکاس (drainage): a well-draining potting mix, as perlite and cocopeat fibres open it up so extra water can leave through the drainage holes
  • An airy root zone: more oxygen around the roots
  • Balanced moisture: cocopeat and peat moss hold water while perlite keeps the mix from staying soggy
  • A natural nutrient base: vermicompost, neem cake, mustard cake, rock phosphate and wood ash release nutrients gradually as they break down
  • Biochar: porous carbon that can help hold water and nutrients in the root zone
  • A cleaner start: with no garden soil, it typically brings fewer weed seeds and soil-borne problems than field mitti

How Does Root Max Work?

Cocopeat and peat moss hold water and air, while perlite, an expanded volcanic rock, opens the mix so extra water can drain. A cocopeat perlite mix like this one stays loose long after watering. Vermicompost, neem cake and mustard cake are slow-acting natural nitrogen sources, rock phosphate supplies phosphorus slowly, and wood ash adds potassium and calcium. Biochar is porous carbon; research from the USDA Agricultural Research Service reports that biochar can help soils retain nutrients and hold more water. A pH-balancing amendment is included to help keep the blend balanced.

How to Use Root Max

  1. Choose a container with drainage holes.
  2. Loosen the mix by hand. If it feels dusty, sprinkle a little water to dampen it; this settles perlite dust. Wash your hands afterwards.
  3. If the mix is dry, add water gradually and mix until it is evenly damp, not dripping.
  4. Fill the pot, leaving 2–3 cm below the rim. Plant and press down gently.
  5. Water slowly until the extra water drains from the holes.
  6. For very small seeds, let the damp mix rest for 2–3 days before sowing.
  7. Water again when the top 2–3 cm is dry. Check pots daily in hot, dry weather and less often during humid monsoon weeks.
  8. Keep the open bag closed and store it in a dry, shaded place.
